Superintendent Melanie Andrews was moved to tears Friday morning in the District Office.  MV staff members presented her with a token of appreciation.

Mrs. Holly Davis, Communication Arts, organized a basket to gift the superintendent to thank her for her work in the district, especially in recent weeks as COVID mitigations have begun to shift.  It was intended to brighten her day as well.

The gift was an effort from the whole MV staff to their leader.

“From first-year teachers all the way to semi-retired John Kabat everyone wanted to pitch in across the board,” stated Mrs. Davis as she presented the basket to Mrs. Andrews.

Consisting of scratch-off lottery tickets, several gift cards, chocolates, a handmade mug, cat socks, a blanket, a donation to Little Paws, and more.

Mrs. Andrews reflected on doing scratch-offs with her mother, she was a “semi-professional in the field of lottery tickets” according to Mrs. Andrews.  This coincidentally made the gesture even more special to Andrews.

In an email to the staff, Mrs. Andrews expressed her gratitude to the staff and thanked them for the touching basket.

“Thank you for having confidence in me to do this job and for being such a great team to work with at MVTHS,” Mrs. Andrews stated in her message to staff.

The presentation was observed by other MV administration in the District Office.

Mrs. Andrews has served in the top position for two years.  She is the first woman to take on this role independently.  Prior to becoming superintendent, Mrs. Andrews was Assistant Regional Superintendant of ROE 13.
