HOSA members prepare for state leadership conference

HOSA will be attending the Illinois State Leadership Conference held in Springfield on  March 13 to 15.

MV students will compete against other schools throughout the state in the  events of their choice.

Some events will be only one round, which will contain a online test.

Other events will be two rounds, the first round will be an online test, than the second round will be a hands on skill-level.

HOSA members were required to take a test that is center around the event they want to compete in.

Those who passed the test are now eligible to attend the state Leadership Conference.

Priyanka Kaushal, ‘19, will be advancing onto state, her events she will be competing in Medical Innovations Team, Medical Law & Ethics, Health Professions Photography.

Holly Maher, ‘19, who is currently serves as the Illinois HOSA President will be competing in Medical Innovations Team, Transcultural Health.

Minh Nguyen, ‘19, who currently serves as the Illinois HOSA Sentinel will be competing in Medical Innovations Team, Medical Reading, Researched Persuasive Speaking.

Aaryana Stringfellow, ‘19, will be competing in Medical Innovations Team, Biomedical Lab Science, Human Growth & Development.

Caitlyn McDaniel, ‘19, will be competing in Nurse Assisting.

Logan Lisk, ‘19, will be competing in Prepared Speaking.

Charu Jain, ‘20, who has been the state champion the past two years will be competing in Medical Terminology, Extemporaneous Health Poster.

Cameron Steele, ‘19, will be competing in Extemporaneous Writing.

Jain is running for Illinois HOSA President, and she currently serves as the IL HOSA Vice President.

Daniel Song, ‘20 is running for Illinois HOSA Vice President, he currently serves as the Illinois HOSA Southern Area Vice President.
