MV Wrestling Secures Regional Title

On February 4, Rams wrestlers secured the Regional title soundly.

This is the first time the wrestling Rams have held the “Regional Champions” title in thirty years.

Regionals were very exciting. I don’t know if any of us were thinking about how long it had been; all we know is that we wanted to win,” stated Dillon White, ‘25,

“Marion wanted to beat us so badly, and they came close. It felt so good to win, and learning that it had been 30 years only made it more special. I’m glad we represented MVTHS in such a positive way,” White added.

Regional success had left MV wrestlers fiending for more when it came to winning, looking to bring home hardwood at State and Sectional levels.

“I continued to train hard. I won Sectionals at 120 lbs. I was the first Sectional champ for MV since 2014; however, I didn’t make the podium at state. This only makes me more driven to keep improving,” said White.

“I’d say we will keep dominating the competition,” declared Mason Randall, ‘24.

Though wrestling is a one-on-one sport, team chemistry is one of the most essential factors in a locker room.

“More people in the wrestling room helped to make us successful, More training partners, more energy in the room, and pushing each other to new levels is all because of a bigger team, but the biggest reason for our success is hands-down our coaches,” White said.
