MV Choir is currently preparing for its upcoming Fall Concert on October, 23. What all goes into staging a fall concert?
What does it take to be a great performer? “It takes a lot of practice and paying attention to the small, but important details.” States Kaitlyn Jackson ‘24.
The concert is an annual thing that people and the community look forward to.
The Fall Concert takes time and effort, but the question is how much?
Hailee Ullery ‘25 stated that it’s a lot of work, but she listens in class and turns to the practice tracks when she is confused.
Carter Hertenstein stated that he spends at least 30 minutes practicing music daily.
MV concerts are traditionally professional and appealing to the eye, and those who attend enjoy getting to watch them. Do the performers also enjoy it?
“I enjoy it because I get to hear the final product of all the work that I have put in,” stated Ullery ‘25.
“ I enjoy the fall concert because we finally have an audience to showcase what we have been working on for months,” stated Merus Brown ‘25.
Music affects the world from an emotional standpoint.
“Music brings peace and calmness to the world,” stated Brown ‘25.
“Well, it gives people a new way to express themselves and by other people learning it, it goes out more,” stated Hertenstein.
“Music allows everyone in the world to feel connected and that they have something they can relate to,” stated Jackson.
Music affects so many people’s lives in a good and positive way.
“Music allows me to express my emotion,” stated Jackson.
“It is a getaway from reality and stress,” stated Ullery.
“ I don’t think I would be where I am without music,” states Brown.
The show is on October 26th, 2023, the people attending are looking forward to this concert and are awaiting this upcoming date.
