How did it feel to play in such a historical tournament?
“It was better competition and it felt like we were playing for something more than a win.” expressed Cale Mauer.
Overall, the Rams went 2-2 during the tournament, Head Coach Tim Holloway praised the team.
“We played 4 Chicago area large schools at the CHT this year. Our team played well defeating Walter Payton College Prep and Carmel Catholic to advance to the semi-finals. We had a highly ranked 4A Marist team within 3 points in the 4th quarter, but eventually fell to a good Evanston team who shot 70%,” Coach Holloway expressed.
“Overall it was a successful tournament. Since we are only a few weeks into the season with 1 returning starter and some young guys, the Holiday Tournament provided great experience and feedback,” Coach Holloway stated.
The Rams will continue to practice and work hard, in their fight to win the South Seven Conference.
“The team is continuing to evolve and currently has a record of 15-5 against a strong schedule. The team is well-connected and has also shown toughness. We are holding opponents in the low 40s, our effective field goal percentage is a good 50% and we have outrebounded our opponents in 16 of the 20 games. Although those numbers are good, we want to continue to improve in all areas down the stretch,” Coach Holloway said.
