Lady Rams continues to be a powerhouse within Southern Illinois girls basketball, winning their 4th consecutive regional title, with a conference record of 7-1.
Many Lady Rams fans expected the Lady Rams to struggle after losing six seniors who were all key players within the program.
“We graduated six seniors last year and I think a lot of people figured we would drop off,” Head Lady Rams Coach Jeff Lonnon stated.
The Lady Rams surpassed those expectations by going 26-6 while being tied for first in conference play with a 7-1 conference record.
“This team has absolutely met expectations with 20 plus wins, a conference title, a regional title, and we won our Christmas tournament,” Lonnon added.
MV Lady Rams has always been a program of excellence that produces great talent.
“We’re very lucky that we’ve had several girls with a lot of talent come through the program the past few years,” Addi Tinsley, ‘25, stated.
The team always sets goals for the season and goals for the postseason.
“The goals we have going forward are to play like we know we can, play as a team, and keep our foot on the gas,” said Kamaree Pollard, ‘25.
The Lady Rams are looking great and strong for upcoming season and future season.
“The future looks strong, we will return two starters and several quality players next year to fill our three seniors spots,” stated Coach Lonnon.
Lady Rams basketball will forever be a program to watch out for as great things are coming for the girls basketball program.
