After winning the 2024 South Seven Golf Preview, the Rams plan to continue to strive and better themselves this season.
With such a young team of golfers, the Rams did all they could this summer to prepare.
“We had open courses every Monday in the summer,” stated Coach Zeke Light,
“I am preparing for the season by practicing every day and focusing on every detail of the game,” said Xander Ashby, ‘27.
When playing a sport like golf, it is important to have goals set.
Mr. Light claimed that his goal for this season is to win the conference for the first time since 2003.
“My goals for the season is to put out some good scores and to make it past regionals,” stated Blake Brown, ‘25.
The Rams are motivated to strive to be better.
“My dad motivates me a lot because he goes to all the matches and when we are practicing in the simulator he always helps with what I am doing wrong,” stated Slade Emery, ‘27
“My passion for the game motivates me,” said Ashby.
Each day the Rams are striving to do their best on the course.
“We still have a lot to improve on, but Xander Ashby, Max Rineheart, and Blake Brown have gotten off to great starts,” stated Mr. Light.
“I believe our whole team has over-performed expectation, We lost three seniors and came back better than ever,” Brown added.
Brown stated that he will miss free golf at Green Hills the most after he graduates high school.
There is lots of competition in the South 7 conference.
Gage Raney, ‘27, stated that if we are playing well nobody has a chance.
Xander added, “We still have quite a bit of season left. Let’s Go Rams!”
