On September 6, MV Drama Club staged its very own rendition of “The Hound of the Baskervilles,” drawing in over 135 people for the first showing.
Production began in April with the theater program deciding on “The Hound of the Baskervilles” as their play of choice.
“It was a really fun idea. It was a classic play that we knew would be good to take to a festival to compete with,” said theater director Mrs. Raquel Bliffen.
Casting began in May, and once school rolled around in August, those lucky enough to be chosen for a role were given two weeks to rehearse and memorize lines.
“It was sort of like if you want to be in this show, put the work in, and if you don’t want to, it will be evident, but I thought everyone put the work in so it turned out well,” asserted Bliffen.
The high point of the night for cast and advisors alike, was esteemed respondents spending over an hour with cast members, providing feedback and answering questions.
“It lent an air of professionalism and respect that I think a lot of theater kids don’t get appreciated for,” said Bliffen.
