As the school year continues, many students are feeling the pressure of balancing school work and extracurricular activities.
Liam Asberry, ‘25, expressed this sentiment, saying, “There’s just not enough time in a day.”
He, and other students, reflected on how his schedule makes it hard to keep up with everything.
Chase Canon, ‘28, also felt the weight of his schedule, as he admitted, “Playing video games is a big distraction.”
However, he’s making progress, as he noted, “I’ve done more of my homework sooner as the year went on.”
This improvement comes at a cost, as Chase said, “I’ve had to sacrifice my free time to get my homework done.”
Elias Mullinax, ‘25, found himself also overwhelmed with all of his many clubs and sports.
He explained, “It’s gotten much busier with all the extracurriculars.”
This business and the fullness of his schedule make it challenging for him to prioritize things well.
Caine Kessler, ‘26, has managed his schedule easier due to his own summer life.
He noted, “I was already on an early morning schedule,” which helped him adjust to school.
Yet, he admits that football practice takes a toll on his energy with it’s consistent practices.
Jack Clark, ‘27, shared his experience with sports when he said, “I’m constantly tired from wrestling.”
Despite this, he found that the difficult routine helps him sleep better at night, with a feeling of satisfaction.
Megan White, ‘26, balances family life with her work life, when she revealed, “I work until 10 PM, so I don’t see my family.”
Still, she enjoyed her involvement in clubs like the National Honor Society, and she said, “It doesn’t take up a lot of my time.”
These students are all dealing with their schedule conflicts while trying to make the most of their school year.
