Following its biggest fundraiser of the year – the annual Pinkout Game FBLA continues its hard work.
Ms. Julie Hayes FBLA Advisor, stated, “ FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. FBLA is a nationwide student organization that helps students build skills for leadership and success in business or any career they choose. It’s not just for students who want to go into business; it’s for anyone who wants to grow as a leader, develop confidence, and learn skills like public speaking, project management, or even finance.”
Ms. Hayes continued, “ The largest event we have had so far this year was our 12th Annual Pinkout Football Game. This is an annual breast cancer research fundraiser. All proceeds go toward the goal of finding a cure.”
Ms. Hayes added, “Funds are raised through sales of a specially designed event t-shirt; duck drops, raffle tickets, Football jersey sponsorships, and business sponsorships. We throw in a pink powder toss at the beginning of the football game for fun.”
Ms. Hayes continued “We have raised approximately $5000 each year through the charitable giving of our Rams Fans.”
Along with FBLA’s impact on its community, it also greatly impacts its members’ lives.
FBLA President Mazie Eilerts, ‘25, stated “ I truly don’t know where I would be without FBLA. It has given me so many opportunities, like traveling to Denver, Colorado, and Dallas Texas, and it has taught me so many leadership skills and life lessons.”
Truman Carnine, ‘26, said, “ FBLA has improved my ability to work with others and has allowed me to experience a business setting.”
FBLA hosts the annual pinkout football game every year which fundraises money to help find a cure for cancer.
“The pinkout game fundraiser went well as usual! Within the last twelve years we have raised over fifty thousand dollars,” said Eilerts.
FBLA goes on lots of trips every year giving members the opportunity to to travel. This year FBLA has traveled to a suburb of chicago called tinley park, Columbus Ohio, Springfield Illinois, and will go to Anaheim California during the summer.
Carnine stated how he is most excited to attend the state conference in Springfield towards the end of the year.
FBLA is a club that is fun to be a part of.
Taytum Taylor, ‘26, stated “ In FBLA we play games, communicate with others, help the community, and grow with our peers.”
Taylor added, “ Get Involved with FBLA it can teach you lots of life skills and help you in your future career.”
