Chick fil A (a.k.a. the Eighth Wonder of the World) has been desired in Mount Vernon for a long time.
The well known and loved fast food establishment brought a food truck to Mount Vernon on November 8, 2024, in the Lowe’s parking lot, bringing students and other residents together to enjoy their food.
Alana Anderson, ‘26, said “I thought that this was a great opportunity to go, especially since the closest Chick fil A is over 30 minutes away.”
“I thought that it would be exciting for everyone in town, because of everyone’s love for Chick fil A,” stated Marveuna Burnett, ‘26.
The food truck was very popular having a full line of people, from when they opened to right before they closed.
MV graduate Nolan Armstrong, ’24, stated “The truck owner must have spoken to someone in the area beforehand and knew how much people liked it since it was busy the whole time I was there.”
Burnett said, “ I think the reason for the food truck was to see how many people would come and to test if Chick fil A would make a good business in Mount Vernon.”
With all the excitement from the Chick fil A food truck MV’s community was brought together by this occurrence.
“The food truck brought warm feelings to everyone gathering and sharing their love for food,” added Barnett.
“The food truck was advertised on facebook. Many families gathered to get a quick meal,” stated Anderson.
With the love for Chick fil A everyone has their own preference on what to get when they have it.
Armstrong said, “ I ordered four chicken sandwiches and some nuggets for multiple people.”
Anderson added, “ I ordered the nugget meal. I wanted a sweet tea but they ran out. I later saw employees walking to Walmart to get more supplies.”
“The food truck was a nice surprise and a good way to bond over something a lot of people enjoy,” said Barnett.
