With the MV men’s basketball team’s season coming to an end, let’s take a look back at some of the best moments of this season.
The men’s team has had a very solid year and has had some key highlights along the way.
“My favorite moment from the season so far has to be defeating Marion in the regional championship,” stated Cam Meyer, class of ‘25.
The men’s team finished with a 17-10 regular season record.
The team increased the competition, scheduling top-ranked teams across the state and out of state.
The team also faced their biggest rival, the Centralia Orphans, three different times this season.
The men’s team went on to win their regional as well, defeating Carbondale in the first round of regionals, with a final score of 53-36.
The team then went on to defeat another huge rival, in the Marion Wildcats.
The Rams finished 2-1 against the Wildcats this year, defeating them once at home in double overtime on their senior night, then losing to them at Marion on their senior night, and then defeating them in the regional championship, where it mattered most, with a final score of 65-49.
”It felt really good to get our revenge on Marion; beating your rival is always a joy,” stated Aaron Scarber, ‘25.
The Rams traveled to Marion to face the Triad Knights in the first round of sectionals on Tuesday, March 4th.
The Knights came out victorious, defeating the Rams in the sectional semi-final, 27-43.
The Rams faced up against the Knights on their second game of the season, during Triad’s Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Knights went on to win this one as well, 60-58
The men’s team has had a great season overall while going up against tough competition. Congratulations, Rams!
