Their first album, JACKBOYS, debuted number one on the Billboard 200 with only seven tracks. This laid the foundation for Cactus Jack and showcased the group’s abilities. The Jackboys consist of Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Sheck Wes, SoFaygo, Chase B, WondaGurl, and Luxury Tax 50. Travis Scott, ten-time Grammy nominee alongside his record label, Cactus Jack released their second album on July 13, 2025. The Jackboys are what they call themselves. The members get to showcase their talent more on JACKBOYS 2 with its 17 tracks.
I enjoyed the album, but some tracks stand out more than others. Here are my picks for the top three tracks from this album.
My favorite song from the album was actually released as a music video a couple of days before the album’s release. This song consists of the three most famous members of the group, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, and Sheck Wes. I think Sheck Wes had the best verse of the three, but Don Toliver delivers those angelic tones. Travis has two verses and he does the chorus along with Sheck Wes. Don also has a chorus as well, this song basically has two chosus’s. My favorite part of the lyrics is when Don sings “JACKBOYS in Texas, JACKBOYS in California,” this just does something in my brain that I can’t explain.
My second favorite song on the album is “Dumbo.” This song brings back that psychedelic feeling that Travis’s ASTROWORLD had. It gives the listener that sensation that you are floating. This song has zero features, and is strictly a Travis song. The chorus, “I bet she goin’ dumbo”along with some of his famous adlibs, “Straight Up.” My favorite part of the track is the part, “You get wasted, just don’t waste mine,” Travis slows down his flow when this part of the song comes on. He sings this part multiple times in a row, then does another verse, then does this again. This song currently sits in my top five Travis songs.
“Contest” is my third and final song in my top three. The artists on this song are Travis Scott and SoFaygo, fans have been craving this collaboration since SoFaygo signed with Travis. This is one of the energetic tracks on the album. I actually believe SoFaygo outperforms Travis on this song, his sound and flow stand out. In the chorus Travis in the chorus has the lyric, “I’ve been winnin’ my whole life, it ain’t no contest,” this amplifies the energetic and rage feeling to this song as they continue to brag about their wealth. Travis still adds his psychedelic elements to the song. This track really showcased how underrated SoFaygo is as an artist, hopefully this elevates him a little.
Honestly, this album rates a 7/10, in my opinion. The only track that was truly disappointing was “Shyne” by Travis and GloRilla, they both have good verses, but the chorus just truly ruins it, “Wobble it, wiggle it” is repeated several times, it just isn’t a pleasant sound, despite it became a meme sound on TikTok for a short period of time. For the most part, I enjoyed this album. If you are a Travis fan, I think you will like this album.
