With 2025-26 underway, clubs, and organizations, are starting back up and putting themselves out there. The hallways are buzzing as clubs are returning; student-led organizations are coming back.
Organizations and Clubs can benefit students at school to help them become more engaged in what they do.
“I’m looking forward to working with another group of students and see how they become engaged through the process,” stated Ms. Jessica Pilson Youth and Government advisor.
MV provides a variety of opportunities for students to get involved, such as FBLA, Youth and Government, FFA, and FCCLA.
“I enjoy networking and growing in who I am, while helping others do the same,” stated, Taytum Taylor ‘27, FBLA VP of Finances.
Some clubs and organizations affect the people that participate for the rest of their lives.
“I was in FFA in high school and actually a student here, and I want to give back to students the opportunities I was given,” Mr. Capps, FFA, said.
Many of these organizations and clubs all have their own uniqueness.
“This club falls under the umbrella of Family and Consumer Sciences; as a culinary arts teacher, leadership is key,” Mrs. Amanda Headen, FCCLA, sponsor, shared.
Organizations like FBLA can teach students a lot.
“Networking, preparing for the future, and learning life skills are concepts I’ve gained,” Taylor shared.
Fundraising is a common way to raise money for these organizations and clubs.
“We are selling candy,” Ms. Shaylynn Hubbard, Spanish Club sponsor, said.
Organizations like FFA conduct two fundraisers: sales at fruit trays, meat and cheese trays, and they also do a Krispy Kreme fundraiser.
Clubs and organizations are enjoying the new year.
“I am looking forward to a good year, and I hope they are successful in their positions and they have fun doing it.” Stated Ms. Pilson.
Staying involved in high school is something to consider, and it can have a significant impact on those who participate.
“Be involved! It doesn’t have to take all of your time, but it is very impactful for you and others. We all have our purposes: so serve your purpose to the full potential,” Taylor added.
