FBLA is the largest business career student organization in the world! It includes over 200,000 students and dates back to 1937!
FBLA is a way to connect with others, branch out, and gain real-world experience in the business world.
“As a member, I hope to be more active than ever before, and connect with other members in my chapter,” said Isabella Stanford, ‘26.
“This year in FBLA, I want to try to do more service work and try to place at an Area Conference or state,” said Avery Sloan, ‘28.
Being a new member brings many struggles when figuring out how to stay involved, where they fit in, and stepping out of their comfort zone.
“Don’t be scared to ask questions. FBLA has lots of parts, so if something doesn’t make sense, ask an officer or advisor,” Stanford stated
Every member starts somewhere. If you have recently joined a club or have been active for years, there is always advice being given.
“The best advice I have been given in FBLA is to come out of your comfort zone. As a shy person this was relatively harder for me, but once I started coming out of my shell it made life so much better and opened up new doors for me,” Sloan added.
Through all of the advice given, there is a similar theme.
“Don’t be scared to try something new!” said Stanford.
Throughout the year, there are multiple events and exciting opportunities.
“So far, the Summer Leadership Workshop was tons of fun, but I’m also looking forward to the National Fall Leadership Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, and the State Leadership Conference in Springfield.” Said Kenzley Camodeca, ‘27.
“My favorite FBLA event is the State Leadership Conference. I was able to meet so many new people and made lifelong friends,” said Sloan.
