FFA will be hosting its 28th Scholarship Fund BBQ dinner on October 5 from 3-7 pm.

The dinner will be held in the MV cafeteria. Tickets cost $10.00.

From each purchased MV ticket, around $8.50 will go into the college scholarship fund that will be given out to a number of different FAA students.

FFA advisor Mr. John Kabat stated that last year eleven students were able to receive a scholarship, anywhere between $400 to $600.

Kabat said the goal for this years dinner  is to make $11,000 to split among 11-15 students.

There will be barbecued pork sandwiches, baked potatoes, green beans, baked beans, soda, lemonade and tea.

Kabat stated students who have been members of FFA for three or four years are more likely to receive a scholarship.

Kabat added helping with the barbecue, the FFA activities students have participated in and if students plan to go into a agriculture career all play a role into the decision of if they will receive a scholarship.

Three and four year members can still get a scholarship if going into a different career other than agriculture, but will get $100 less.
