The MV Lady Rams went into Carbondale on a bit of a losing skid. They were hoping for a repeat of their earlier encounter with another win.

The Lady Rams got off to a hot start. Brooklyn Kelly, ‘19 scored two quick three pointers, and Nici Rudd, ‘19 dominated the paint with 10 first quarter points.

Annabelle Harrison, ‘20 also started with an efficient 8 points through half number one. After the first quarter the Lady Rams led 22-16.

In the second quarter the Terriers out scored MV 15-9. Starter Bria Moore, ‘19 had to ride the pine due to 3 fouls in the first half.

Early in the third quarter both Rudd and Moore had 4 fouls. Up to that point Rudd was the games leading scorer for both sides.

Other disadvantages included a scorekeepers confusion about Ryan’s number. This caused a technical against MV. This shifted momentum for the rest of the game.

Early in the fourth quarter, less than two minutes after checking in, team spark plug Jacie Dees, ‘22 injured her ankle. She was helped off the floor by two teammates with no pressure on the ankle.

The game was close all the way to the end. Both teams started to get eager and sloppy. Carbondale was able to capitalize on more mistakes than MV.
