“So no one told you life was gonna be this way. Your job’s a joke, you’re broke,
your love life’s D.O.A…”

Sound familiar? It should.

Including opening lines from the ‘90’s sitcom, “Friends,” also serves as the theme of MV’s 2019 prom.

Students on the Prom Committee voted on this theme, pitched by Mrs. Holly Davis, Junior Class co-sponsor, over several others.

The date for the New York coffeehouse-themed dance is on April 27 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM in the Auxiliary Gym on the MV campus.

Prom is from 7 pm until 10 pm in the Auxiliary Gym.

The cost per ticket is $25.00.

The prom committee is planning to incorporate orange sofas, NY skyscrapers, and lights into the decorations for the dance.

“We are going to serve iced coffee as a refreshment, which will be a first,” said Ms. Tyra Anderson, District Office Administrator Assistant, and Junior Class co-sponsor.

As for planning, meetings have been held to plan the details of the dance.

About a dozen students came to a prom meeting and made selections of colors, t-shirt designs, crown selections and a few other miscellaneous items that will be used for the 2019 prom,” stated Ms. Tyra Anderson.

Ms. Anderson said the committee has been able to resolve any issues that have come up in terms of prom planning. With everyone working together.

“This should be a fun and upbeat prom,” added Ms. Anderson. “I think that it will be a lot of fun.”
