In recent years, Rams football has definitely not been the most beloved team at MV. In fact it might be the most overlooked just for the lack of a winning culture in the program’s past years. Over the past two seasons, the Rams have a combined record of 1-14, and the team hasn’t made the playoffs since the 2013 season. However, those losses are not for a lack of effort.

I promise that we, the players, don’t want to lose. I can also promise that the work put in by the by the players this offseason is more than you could ever imagine. Anyone is welcome to come out to workouts that that take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays right after school. That schedule will change for the first time on Monday, June 6 for our first official summer lift, where the days will be the same but the time will change. Instead of being right after school, workouts will take place at 5:00 PM.

The schedule then changes for the final time on July 5, where the real football part of it takes place. This time instead of a time change it is a change in the days. Workouts will take place on Monday-Friday in the month of July, from 5-8 PM.

Since 2015, a total of five head coaches have taken over the football program for the Rams. This year we’re going on our sixth head coach in 7 years, but this hiring feels like it’s what the Rams need.

Coach Mings is an experienced coach, and he has coached the Rams in the past, so he is familiar with our program. The Rams also made the playoffs in four straight seasons with Coach Mings at the helm.

Coach Mings wants to make the Rams relevant again in the South 7. I have never seen a coach that wants to make you better as much as he does. I’ve seen him talk to many people one on one on what they need to work on, or just praising their hard work.

The Rams hear what everyone has to say. We hear all the negative comments, and it seems like you can’t talk about the football team without hearing something negative come from anyone. It’s time to make a change, not just on the field, but the overall perspective of Rams football. We want this team to go back to being a powerhouse in the South 7 like it used to be.

Show your support, display your Ram pride, and get involved this upcoming fall. It’s time to get behind the Rams football program.
