A new school year brings a fresh yearbook focus.

The 2022-23 Vernois Yearbook team is hard at work to create and deliver another masterpiece.

What is this year’s theme?  Managing editor, Kolton Dudley, ‘23 said that this year’s theme will be “To New Beginnings.”

Dudley is excited that the yearbook process should be calmer this year due to a larger staff.

“Last year we started with 5-6 staff members, and ended the year with 8-9. This year we have 23. My goals are to make a really good yearbook. We can do more with more people,” said Dudley.

The staff will dedicate the first quarter to decisions about such things as theme, colors and fonts, then spend the rest of the year putting spreads together.

As a student-lead yearbook process, the staff writes their ideas and submits them to Dr. Jamey VanZandt, Vernois Advisor.

Jostens.com explains the benefits of a student-lead yearbook as follows, “A yearbook is created around the community by students who are a part of it; and what makes that so special, is that the yearbook is displayed through their point of view.”
