Student Council Attends Fall Leadership Workshop

The Little Egypt District of Student Councils attends several conferences throughout the year, and MV Student Council attended the Fall Leadership Conference, which was hosted by Marion High School on Thursday November 8.

Schools from the district gathered for the workshops at MHS.

“We [broke] out into discussion groups and talked about certain topics or current issues in schools,” said Paige Julius, ‘21.

Along with workshops, guest speaker Brandon Lee White presented to the students.

MV’s full council will be attending.

“I [loved] to experience a student council event that takes place outside of our school,” said Sahar Rashid, ‘20, “It gives us a chance to connect with other members in our district and learn new [concepts] that we can bring into our council!”

Paige Julius looked forward to hearing the keynote speaker and she enjoyed meeting new people.

District officers Gatlin Miller, District President and Jon Wilson, District Liaison, will be accompanying the rest of the council.

“I am excited for this year’s council to be able to get a taste of how the district level operates,” said Wilson.

“I hope that we can take something away from the workshop and use it to further develop our skills as leaders and make this school a better place,” Wilson stated.
