Will the Rams push their way to victory this season?
Football season has officially made its way back at MV and the excitement is rising.
“I am looking forward to going to all the games and basketball games and being around friends,” said Maxwell Rinehart, ‘28.
Although individuals who appear in the Khaos Kage are excited, so are the players.
“I support and appreciate everyone that comes out and supports the Rams,” expressed Kylon Brown, ‘27.
The Rams have made additions to the playbook and are looking forward to taking new approaches on the field.
“I think we have the potential to go way further than last year, because we have a better playbook and we have more athletic players”, emphasized Gavin Gilliams ‘27.
Football is a typical sport for high schools around the world, Kylon and Gavin recall that football was always a dream of theirs.
Football isn’t only about being on the field and winning; it’s also about teamwork.
Brown added that he wishes for the team to go far this season by helping his teammates do their job.
Brown states that Rams Varsity has more leadership and chemistry this year.
Even though we started this year with a loss, the Rams hope to turn things around.
Gilliams commented that he is looking forward to making it to the playoffs.
With the new season approaching there are obstacles to overcome.
“Biggest thing to overcome is inexperience”, stated Dan Mings Head Coach
Along with playing on the field, there is also a big topic barricading football season. That is the Khaos Kage, otherwise known as “618’s Most Hated”.
The Khaos Kage is fueled by Ram Pride.
At MV school spirit is known as “Ram Pride,” noted Evan Leathers, ‘25.
Another way to express school spirit is showing up to games.
Individuals active in the student section often describe the environment as fun and exciting.
While hyping up your team is fun, what about losing?
Well, Coach Mings believes that the Rams have their work cut out for them.
“Last year we started 3-1 and made it to the playoffs, this year our work is cut out for us”, added Coach Mings.
The Rams continue the month with games on the 13, 20, and 27.
The last home game for September is the 13th, which is also the annual Pinkout Game.
