With the start of the new school year comes the start of last first days for the class of 2025. With looming college decisions, plans for the future, and bittersweet last moments, every senior has a story to tell in their last moments of high school.
With almost four years of high school memories, it’s hard to choose a favorite.
“My favorite memory would have to be when my class won every pep rally our sophomore year,” asserted Sawyer Lusby, ‘25.”
Some other seniors’ favorite memories embraced the more comical moments of high school.
“My favorite memory of high school has been the yearly tennis banquets, specifically my sophomore year when our coach Randy called out my teammate, Mazie, saying ‘sometimes Mazie hits such good shots, and then other times she hits shots and it’s like she’s from another planet,” stated Kaylee Down, ‘25.
Our seniors also take with them their many accolades and accomplishments from their time at MV.
“My biggest accomplishment throughout high school has been being elected as the Black Students Union President for the 24-25 school year,” said Azelia Badger, ‘25.
With the senior’s many feats, and the wisdom they’ve gained in the last four years, they have some advice on what they would change if they could do it all again.
“I would have dressed up more for all the spirit days and games. I found out that it’s actually cool to participate,” asserted Sophia Owens, ‘25.
“If I could start over I would have played football all four years,” said Lusby.
As far as life after high school, everyone has different plans and goals for college.
Some will choose to go off to college, or join a trade, or transition straight into the workforce.
“I currently plan on taking a two-month internship in Costa Rica next summer and attending Ozark Christian College and MSSU in Joplin, Missouri,” asserted Elias Mullinax, ‘25.
As the seniors prepare to leave, they will leave a legacy on their clubs and organizations.
“I’m a big member of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), and I plan to leave a good example for upcoming leaders,” stated Lusby.
As seniors plan to say goodbye, don’t forget to live in the moment and cherish the bittersweet last moments at MV.
